So! With encouragement, I finally picked up some of the bottles of coloured ink I got myself on a whim years ago. I think the one I thought was black ink is actually brown though (meant for sepia tones). Thus the lineart is brown ink with a... quill pen I guess? You can't actually put ink in it, it just has a metal nib that you need to keep dipping back into the ink. Not terribly good for consistant flowing lines, but I did kinda like the way it could fade off with small lines. Until it caught in the paper texture of course XD Then I used the red ink with... It's basically a stick of wood cut with a wedge tip. It's fairly absorbent (bamboo?) so it worked decently for filling in colour. There both things I used way back in high school (how did I get them?). The results were interesting. I'm thinking bristol board will work better in terms of the quill not catching as much.
